Stories behind the songs

Streets of Portales

Andy's tribute to the small town in New Mexico
that he calls home. No one really knows how blessed
they really are until the come back HOME. And Andy
has traveled the world, and then some. I wish I could
have been at a few of those baseball fields in the dark
with my friend and his daughter.

Times Change

This is one from Joshua. He has been in limbo for quite
a few years. Forced to move across the country quite a few
times, he asks the question "What are we doing here"???

The View

This song, written by Andy's friend Mark Davis,
is about a relationship, from a long lost love.
Mark really let it all out in this song. This song
really demonstrates the joy, the pain, and the frustration
of loving someone.

When Your Time is Up

This is one of our all-time favorite songs to play live.
There is so much energy here. This song is about making
the most of the time that you have in this world. Written
in January of 1997, it was inspired after a map of Alaska fell
off the wall overnight. I woke up with Alaska on my face.
A song was born.

Meet Me in the Dark

This song was written in 1998, is one Joshua wrote for his ex-wife,
Melissa. After a long night in the control tower, I literally saw
"Cartwheels on the horizon", while constellations illuminated the
twilight sky. A few minutes later, the entire song was penned.

Shuffle On

This is another Joshua tune. After a long day at work, doing the
mundane over and over again, I had to vent. This is a feeling that
I think most of us feel from time to time, and the only outlet for
any of us is just to "Shuffle On"

Soutside of the Sky

Thanks to the Steaks for letting us record this gem.
This song speaks to your heart in a way that made it
an immediate favorite for us. We make a point to
perform this song for those we love, because it is
about the love we have for our family, and friends That love
transcends the physical world and extends to eternity.

Summer Midnight Aire

This song is about a wild summer love affair that involved
a road trip from New Mexico to Boston, breaking and entering,
and various other nightime summer activities!
(From Joshua, Andy has a wild curse of breakups after he writes
a song about the gal.) I hope he doesn't write a song about his
current lass......

LaLabye

A unique song that required its own unique spelling. This song
is a musical mantra. It is a prayer, a plea for peace, and a great
sing-a-long! The more voices we have the better it sounds. The
studio version of this song gave us both chills. As a live song,
it can be powerfully uplifting to those who lend their voice and
allow the music to move them.
